Course overview

Change is inevitable — but confusion, resistance, and loss of trust don’t have to be.

This module gives managers a clear, practical approach to leading people through change calmly, transparently, and humanely. You’ll learn how to communicate change in a way that builds trust, support people emotionally as they adjust, and handle the most difficult forms of change — including redundancy — fairly and legally.

Rather than avoiding hard conversations or relying on vague reassurance, you’ll develop the confidence to explain why change is happening, address uncertainty without overpromising, and guide your team through disruption while protecting morale, performance, and credibility.

What you’ll gain

By the end of this module, you’ll be able to:

  • Communicate change clearly, honestly, and at the right time
  • Explain the why, what, and how of change in plain, human language
  • Manage uncertainty and difficult questions without damaging trust
  • Recognise common emotional responses to change and respond appropriately
  • Support individuals through resistance, anxiety, and disengagement
  • Maintain motivation and performance during periods of transition
  • Understand your role in redundancy processes and where HR support fits
  • Contribute to redundancy processes that are fair, objective, and legally sound
  • Handle sensitive change with professionalism, empathy, and confidence
